Every year, the first Sunday in May is deemed “National Lemonade Day.” It is a great way to promote entrepreneurship among young people as they learn about business and finances by making and selling lemonade. Kids can keep track of costs, sales and profits. Tracking can help them learn about money management.

Steps for a lemonade stand:

Purple Day, March 26th, is an international day to educate and raise awareness among members of the public about people living with epilepsy.

Ways you can get involved are wearing purple to show your support, fundraise for local organizations that rally for epilepsy, or start a discussion to educate yourself and others.

Library Settlement Worker at Temiskaming Shores Public Library

Beginning at the end of February 2024, the Temiskaming Shores Public Library is privileged to have a Library Settlement Worker based out of the Library two days a week to help newcomers to the area with settlement services.

The position is funded through a project with the North Bay and District Multicultural Centre, the Timmins and District Multicultural Centre, and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
